TUBES is The University of Bristol's Engineering Society. It organises social and academic events for its 900 members, and helps represent their interests to the university.
Engineering degrees are some of the most time consuming subjects you can study, so TUBES organises some of the most fun events to compensate! These include everything from epic bar crawls (with plenty of drinks on us to start the night!) through to paintballing. Whatever the occasion, you can be sure you'll have a great time with your mates, at the fantastic rates which our large membership numbers enable us to secure.
We also develop strong links with relevant companies and arrange regular networking events to help our members meet potential future employers. These include lunchtime talks from our sponsors, as well as valuable trips to the labs of local engineering firms.
TUBES has a number of successful sports teams which compete with other societies in the intramural league. These include football, rugby, netball, volleyball, basketball and hockey, and we are able to offer financial support to anybody wishing to start a new team of their own.
Finally, TUBES holds an annual Spring Ball jointly with the maths and psychology departments, which last year sold out with Electric Six headlining.
However much you choose to do, you'll find TUBES a welcome break from engineering life!
